Lifers Essay Contest

Fight for lifers would like you to submit an article about your experience as a lifer in Pennsylvania. The first place writer will be published in the Thomas Merton Newpeople newspaper, as we aim to alert the public of the cruelty and depravity of our prison system. Please note the subject matter, and the guidelines. We look forward to hearing from you. The deadline is labor day.

Subject Matter:

•   Do you think Life without parole is fair?  Should PA change the Law?

•   Are there meaningful classes for lifers?

•   Families: What are the consequences for the families of lifers?

•   Is the commutation system working in Pennsylvania?

Guidelines:

•   750 word Max

•   No Profanity

•   Must be your own, real life experience.

•   Must be typed
